Dentistry as we know it has a centuries-long history that has evolved over time through trial and error to the modern technique practiced in dental offices today. This is also the story of BTLock International. A story made of continuous research, study and specialization, of tests and experiments experienced with daily enthusiasm inside our laboratories, with the sole objective of bringing the best possible product to the market.

BTLock International is an idea that took shape in 1995, when a group of implantologists, who were doing research together, decided to collaborate by sharing their knowledge to give birth to a unique dental implant. The following year, BTLock was founded: since then, we have been designing and manufacturing implant systems with the awareness of offering a quality, original and effective product that can improve, day after day, the work of doctors and the smiles of patients.

Technology. Research. Italian production. These are our key words. Three values that translate into a constant drive for innovation, supported by prestigious university collaborations with engineers, technicians and professionals in the biomedical industry. A fundamental contribution is also made by daily clinical practice, combined with great craftsmanship, care and attention given to product refinement, and Italian creativity, which is a distinctive feature of our company.

Since 1996 to the present, BTLock International has been inventing and implementing its solutions exclusively in Italy, with a legal and commercial office in Vicenza-rooted in the entrepreneurial fabric of the Veneto region-and production headquarters in Vibo Valentia. Distribution, on the other hand, is international, to make BTLock a benchmark for implantology worldwide.

Our goal is a smile. Always. What has identified BTLock’s signature implantology since its inception is the invention and development of a newly developed implant connection: with an internal triangular geometry, asymmetrical on three different levels, doubly anti-rotational. The international patent makes it unique in the market.

The BTLock system has four main strengths, which have enabled it to solve two problems: connection tightness and durability of the prosthetic artifact.

• The design, with its three rounded corners, provides precision and solidity.
• The interlocking depth (2.96mm) between the fixture and abutment allows for improved connection tightness and distribution of masticatory forces, thus minimizing micromovements between the two parts for high mechanical stability.
• The tapered bevel on the fixture with countershaping on the abutment closes the contact surface between the two parts and creates a perfect fit of the margins, preventing the infiltration of fluid and bacteria and keeping the peri-implant sulcus free from inflammation.
• Machining, milled on a lathe, unlike the die-cast die is more precise and does not create injurious stresses to it.

For these reasons, the BTLock implant connection system is original, innovative and effective, so much so that it has become our image, our brand, our logo.

Behind every smile made possible by a BTLock implant there is a story to tell, but more importantly there are numerous tests, patents and certificates that make it safe and flawless.
After all, patient well-being depends on the quality of the medical device: the careful workmanship, the reliability of materials, the safety of implants, and the attention to packaging. All these factors place BTLock International at the top of industry production.

Quality assurance is one of the essential elements during the study and development of our products, which are made entirely in Italy according to EN ISO 13485 standards.
All BTLock products belonging to Class I bear the CE mark, those in Class IIA and IIB are CE certified by the National Institute of Health (Notifying Body 0373 – Ministry of Health). In compliance with the regulations of the European Union Directive 93/42/EEC and Amendment 2007/47/EC, the conformity of the same must be evaluated before they are placed on the market.

In addition, for international distribution needs, BTLock has adapted to non-EU production standards for countries such as Brazil (Anvisa), South Korea (KFDA), Taiwan (DOH), and Mexico (Cofepris).
All BTLock implants and related prosthetic components have received long-term approval for the United States (FDA – K073458 and K083869).
