Ball abutments are used to make a prosthesis anchored on implants and resting on the mucosa. For effective anchorage, the prosthesis should rest on at least two implants (the divergence between the two implants in situ should be no more than 10°), while for optimal retention the ball abutments should be aligned at the same height.
