Expanders are useful devices for the implantologist to create osteotomy sites that are difficult to create with traditional surgical procedures.
They are indicated for manual creation of implant sites without bone loss.

In addition:
– Progressively expand thin ridges
– Compacts the wall of the implant site, increasing the primary stability of the implant (in spongy bone)
– greater manual mastery, compared with the rotary instrument, allows for slow penetration into the medullary and in borderline situations not to invade the mandibular canal
